Alberto Candelaria pitched well, but his team, the Mexico City Luchadores, still dropped a 2-1 decision to the El Paso Mavericks at The Corral. The Mavericks raised their record to 63-75.

El Paso second baseman Matt Dahlk contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the second. With two down, he hit a fastball to center field for a run-scoring single. It was his 119th hit of the season and put the Mavericks ahead, 2-1.

"I feel honored to be a part of this team," said Dahlk.
