The Asheville Moonshiners knocked off the Bighorn Bison, 5-4, in Roberto Clemente League action at Ram Brewery Ballpark. Asheville pitcher and Mexico City, Mexico, native Jose Ayala had an outstanding performance. Steven Shiplack, who leads the RCL in saves with 38, earned the save for Asheville. The Moonshiners now have a record of 67-70.

Alex Garza delivered a big hit for Asheville. The first baseman drilled a 3-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Moonshiners ahead, 5-4. It was his only hit, but it was a beauty.

"I was a little disappointed," said Bighorn manager Yoshihiro Takahashi. "We could've and should've scored more runs."
