Butterflies Hold Off Texans, 2-1
|
The Kaleidoscope featured a tense pitchers' duel.
Nick Leicht was locked and loaded, helping the Pennsylvania Butterflies beat the Dallas Texans, 2-1. Norm Anglin was the winner in relief. His record is now 5-5. The losing pitcher was Mike Boyle. Picking up the save was Eric Reichel, his 28th.
A crucial at-bat came with the bases empty and no one out in the bottom of the seventh inning. That's when center fielder Bobby Shaw, who is tied for 10th in the RCL in triples with 5, hit a triple. The Butterflies went on to win.
"Good ballgame," said Dallas manager Gary Stoy. "But we came up on the short end."
Pennsylvania now has a record of 73-63 with the win.
