Popper, Pilots Too Much for Blazers
John Popper made an impact in the 11-4 Jacksonville win over Bloomington. Popper, who led the TML in on-base percentage with .420 in 2054, was 4 for 4 with a home run, 3 singles, and a walk. He scored 4 runs and drove in 3. German Gil got the win, improving to 16-8. He worked 7.2 innings, giving up 4 runs on 6 hits, while striking out 4 and walking 3. Luis Moreno earned the save for Jacksonville.

Popper had an important at-bat with a runner on 1st in the bottom of the seventh, when he hit a single. The Pilots went on to win.

"It's not about individual awards," Popper told a Jacksonville Daily News reporter after the game. "It's about winning championships. That's what we play for."

With the win over Bloomington, the Pilots improved to 93-65.
