Mexico City starter Duane Alcock pitched well against the West Island Jazz at The Royal Grounds. The left-hander led his team to a win, 4-2. The winning pitcher was Alcock, now 7-10. He tossed 8 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 2 and fanning 4. The Luchadores improved their record to 73-85 with the win over West Island.

Rich Van Fleet was 1 for 2 with a walk for Mexico City. The 23-year old third baseman had a key at-bat in the bottom of the fifth. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 1-1 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Sam Hickey. It was his 82nd RBI of the season.

"I liked his command," said Mexico City manager Prince Percival Papenfuss. "Duane was throwing strikes."
