Chambers Hits 2 home runs in Millers Win
|
The Milwaukee Millers beat the Pennsylvania Butterflies in a game featuring much hitting but not much pitching. The final score was 13-9, Millers. One of the hitting stars was center fielder Nate Chambers. Chambers, who won the Rookie of the Year Award in 2064, hit 2 home runs, while adding 8 RBI and scoring twice. Ron Schott got the win, improving to 2-1. He held the Butterflies to 5 runs on 6 hits over 6.2 innings, while striking out 5 and walking 5. The Butterflies, now 5-14, continue their slow start.
One of the clutch hits for Milwaukee came from one of their biggest talents. In the top of the seventh with no one out, Cade Bruett Jr., who finished 2nd in the TML in doubles with 49 last year, hit a run-scoring single to put the Millers up, 5-4. For the game, the shortstop went 4 for 6 with 4 singles, while scoring 2 runs.
"I put some good swings on the ball tonight," said Chambers.
