The Hawaii Honu besoiled an otherwise fine performance by Huntington Station second baseman Danny Ortiz by beating the Ramrods, 9-8, at Station Center Yard. Ortiz went 2 for 5 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 times and drove in 4. Hawaii is 58-77 and Huntington Station, with the loss, 57-78.

Hawaii used the timely hitting of Austin Thompson to seize the win. The center fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Honu on top, 9-8. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"We'll take this win and move on," said Thompson.
