Eclipse Better Mavericks, 5-4
|
Luke Green did all he could to help his team win. In the end, though, it wasn't enough to keep the El Paso Mavericks from being beaten, 5-4, to the Chicago Eclipse at Millennium Field. Green was 3-4 with a triple, a double, and a walk. Steve Ferris, now 4-1, was credited with the win in 2.1 innings of relief. He allowed no runs on 1 hit, while striking out 2 and walking 0. Oscar Zegarra earned the save for Chicago, his 7th of the year.
Israel Cardenas helped out the Chicago cause in the bottom of the sixth inning with a run-scoring single. For the game, the center fielder went 2 for 4 with 2 singles. He scored 2 times.
"The other side took advantage in some key situations," said El Paso manager Lorenzo Castillo.
With the victory, the Eclipse record stands at 69-65.
