Pilots Thwart Blazers, 2-1

Jeremy Davis, who was drafted in the 2nd round of the 2062 draft, never let the Blazers get in a groove. The right-hander used his bread and butter, his cutter, to pitch the Pilots to a win, 2-1. Tyler Martin closed it out for Jacksonville, earning his 43rd save. The Pilots, at 91-65, sit in second place in the Thurman Munson League East Division.
Jacksonville took control in the bottom of the sixth. With one out and runners on 1st and 2nd, John Popper hit a run-scoring single to make it 1-0, Pilots.
"I'm trying to keep it simple," said Davis. "Just do my job."
