Eclipse Beat Sasquatch, 5-1
|
Vitaly Hagurov, who led the TML in ERA with 2.56 in 2058, never let the Sasquatch get in a groove. The left-hander used his bread and butter, his screwball, to pitch the Eclipse to a win, 5-1. The loss puts Seattle at 7-7.
Manuel Zumaya had a big bases-clearing double for the Eclipse in the bottom of the second inning. With Chicago leading 1-0 and the bases loaded, he got a fastball from 35-year old left-handed pitcher Leo Kirk and swatted a double to right-center. It was his 4th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Eclipse ahead, 4-0.
"There's a lot of passion in our clubhouse," said Zumaya. "When we put it together we're a great ball club."
