The Bighorn Bison rode a solid performance from 23-year-old starting pitcher Dave Ransom to a win, beating the San Francisco Earthquakes, 3-2, at Ram Brewery Ballpark. Bighorn reliever Andy Johnson picked up the win, upping his record to 4-2. Junior Baxter was saddled with the loss. Bighorn now sports a record of 80-75.
Bighorn took control in the bottom of the seventh. With one out and the bases loaded, Robby Stewart hit a run-scoring single to make it 3-2, Bison.
"Dave executed his pitches at a high level," said Bighorn manager Carlos Esparza.
