Field de Los Layendas was the site of a competitive game between the Cabo San Lucas Toreros and Montreal Mounties.
The Montreal Mounties banked on Rob Schuss and he turned in a masterful performance. The right-hander kept the Cabo San Lucas hitters in check. The final score was 3-1, Mounties. In 6.1 innings, Schuss surrendered 5 hits, while striking out 0 and walking 2. He allowed no runs. Bill Wolfe, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 34th save.
Jesus Jasso had a direct impact on the outcome. Jasso contributed a run-scoring double in the top of the fourth inning to put Montreal up, 2-0.
"I think every team will tell you that the pitching sets the tone, especially the starters," said Montreal skipper Thomas Hughes.
The win gives Montreal a season record of 91-65.
