Mounties Rally to Eke Out Win
|
Mount Royal Grounds played host to some real drama.
The Montreal Mounties did just enough to nip the Bighorn Bison, 7-6, in 11 innings. Montreal pitcher Matt Lopas, in particular, had a standout performance. The second-place Mounties lifted their record to 76-57.
The decisive blow was delivered by Malik Richie in the bottom of the 11th when he hit a solo home run off 28-year old right-handed pitcher Oscar Rivera to win the game for Montreal. The home crowd went nuts.
"There's no quit in this team," said Mounties manager Julián Martínez.
