Sasquatch Prevail, 5-3, Over Walnut Creek
|
The Seattle Sasquatch racked up a win at Sasquatch Field at Brewbaker Family Memorial Stadium, bumping off the Walnut Creek Warriors, 5-3. Leo Kirk, who started for Seattle, pitched effectively for his team. Kirk got the win, improving to 9-10. He gave up 6 hits and walked 0 over 7 innings. He allowed 3 runs. Nate Wesson earned his 24th save, after closing out the game.
Charles McNeil went 1 for 4. He drove in 2 runs for Seattle. The 22-year old center fielder had a key at-bat in the bottom of the fifth. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 3-3 tie with a 2-run single off Bruce Moreno. It was his 2nd hit of the season.
"When I'm in the lineup, I always feel like we're going to win the game," said McNeil.
Seattle now sports a record of 62-70.
