Golden Goebels Park was the site of a competitive game between the Houghton Gremlins and Walnut Creek Warriors.
Behind an impressive start by Dave Draman, Walnut Creek beat Houghton, 4-2. David Padilla earned the save for Walnut Creek, his 27th.
Walnut Creek starter Dave Draman pitched like a boss. The 6-foot-2 left-hander allowed 1 run on 2 hits over 8 innings.
"We have a lot of confidence in Dave," said Walnut Creek manager Ruben Torres.
By defeating Houghton, the last-place Warriors improved to 57-75.
