Kennedy Belts 2 Homers in 4-2 Win
|
Colin Kennedy knocked in 3 runs to help Walnut Creek beat Houghton, 4-2. Kennedy produced 1 single and 2 home runs. Gilberto Velazquez earned the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed 1 run on 2 hits in 3.1 innings. His record is now 2-2. Russ Gilleo closed it out for his 17th save.
Kennedy had a game-changing home run in the top of the ninth. On a 1-1 fastball from Chris Wethington, he banged a 2-run home run to left, giving the Warriors a 4-2 lead. It was the 2nd home run of the year for Kennedy.
"We're our own worst enemy right now," said Houghton skipper Dane Freeman.
This loss makes it 8 in a row for Houghton.
