Losing Trend Continues for Milwaukee
The Vancouver Pioneers beat the Milwaukee Millers, 8-2, at "The Fort" at B.C. Place. The Pioneers got a fine performance from first baseman Travis Stiff, who slugged 2 home runs. Nick Galea, the winning pitcher, is now 12-10. He went 5 innings, allowing 2 runs on 6 hits, while fanning 5 and walking 2. Jose Cedano, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 2nd save.

Stiff had a big at-bat with the bases empty in the bottom of the first inning, when he hit a solo home run. The Pioneers went on to win.

"It's a humbling game and right now we're being humbled in a lot of different areas," said Milwaukee manager Daniel Breuer.

Vancouver has won 3 straight, while Milwaukee has lost 10 in a row.
