Bruett Jr. Helps Millers Beat Sasquatch, 9-3
|
Behind a solid performance from second baseman Cade Bruett Jr., the Milwaukee Millers defeated the Seattle Sasquatch, 9-3. Bruett Jr. went 2 for 5 with a home run, while scoring 2 and driving in 6 for the Millers. Drew Young got the win, improving to 7-10. He pitched 6.2 innings, giving up 5 hits and 3 runs, while striking out 10 and walking 3. The Millers are now 65-87.
With Milwaukee leading 5-0 in the top of the seventh, Bruett Jr. came up to bat against Seattle pitcher Corey Moore. Bruett Jr. hit a curveball to right for a grand slam home run. His 20th home run of the season put the Millers on top, 9-0.
"We're producers not directors," said Bruett Jr.. "Produce a good swing. Can't direct where it goes."
