Fans watched the Hawaii Honu and the Maple Marauders fight to the finish.

The Hawaii Honu picked up a win at Aloha Stadium, knocking off the Maple Marauders, 4-3. On the mound for Hawaii was right-hander Chris Sweeney. He played a key role in the triumph. Sweeney, now 10-16, was the winner. In 8 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 10, walking 4, and allowing 3 runs.

In the bottom of the 6th, catcher Paul Cavanaugh gave Hawaii the lead when he hit a 2-run single. The Honu had been trailing 2-1, but the two-out single off Maple pitcher Ron Elliott changed that -- and Hawaii went on to win.

"You get some opportunities, you better take advantage of them," said Maple manager Aaron McKenna.

Hawaii now sports a record of 75-78.
