Marauders Snatch Late-Game, 4-3 Win
|
Behind the hitting of Earl Bitner, the Maple Marauders stopped the Eureka Hornets, 4-3. Bitner was 2-4 with 2 home runs for the Marauders. Nate Yelinek picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 2-6. Bobby Loscalzo, who is tied for 3rd in the TML in wins with 13, was tagged with the loss. The victory puts Maple at 50-81.
Maple needed the clutch hitting of John Conner to seal the deal. The right fielder swatted a 2-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Marauders on top, 4-2. For the game, Conner had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
Maple manager Daniel Dillon commended his team for "doing what it takes to win."
