Tornadoes Deal Earthquakes 3-1 Loss
|
The Kansas City Tornadoes got a magnificent effort from pitcher Mario Villegas, who kept San Francisco hitters in check en route to a 3-1 Tornadoes win at Golden Gate Park. The winning pitcher was Villegas, now 8-12. He tossed 7 innings of 3-hit ball, while walking 2 and fanning 4. Manuel Zepeda earned the save, his 7th.
The Tornadoes got a big at-bat from shortstop Vinnie Fasnacht. For the game, Fasnacht was 1-4 with a home run. In the top of the fourth, with the bases empty, he stroked a solo home run. His 26th home run of the season gave Kansas City a 2-1 lead.
"We played a good game and came out on top," said Villegas.
