Houghton Loses Again, 5-2
|
Miguel Trujillo had a good game, but he could not keep the Houghton Gremlins from falling, 5-2, to the Walnut Creek Warriors at Golden Goebels Park. The Houghton right fielder was 4 for 5 with a home run and 3 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once in the loss. Houghton now owns a losing streak of 7 games.
Matt Schaefer, who is tied for 8th in the RCL in stolen bases with 24, helped out the Walnut Creek cause in the top of the sixth inning with a run-scoring walk. For the game, the center fielder was 1 for 4 with a walk.
"We're in a marathon, not a sprint," Schaefer said in postgame remarks. "Soon enough, the finish line will be in sight."
