Starting pitcher Chris Sweeney was a major factor in the 6-2 Hawaii Honu triumph over the Houghton Gremlins. The winning pitcher was Sweeney, now 11-9. He tossed 6.1 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 2 and fanning 10. The Honu now own a record of 55-75.

Aaron Gross had a big run-scoring triple for the Honu in the top of the first inning. With Hawaii leading 1-0 and a runner on 2nd, he got a slider from Jeromir Hamrlik, who is tied for 4th in the RCL in wins with 13, and swatted a triple to right-center. It was his 4th triple of the season, and more importantly, it put the Honu ahead, 2-0.

"Chris attacked hitters and trusted his stuff," said Hawaii manager Naoki Okada.
