In a low-scoring affair between the Eureka Hornets and the Montreal Mounties, pitcher Bobby Loscalzo was the difference between victory and defeat. The Eureka right-hander earned kudos in the 3-2 Hornets win. With the win, Eureka goes to 93-58, while the Mounties fall to 92-60.

Robby Helt had a big 2-run home run for the Hornets in the bottom of the third inning. With Eureka leading 1-0 and a runner on 1st, he sized up a sinker from Leonardo Cortez, who is tied for 4th in the RCL with a 3.89 ERA, and punished it. The result was his 27th home run of the season, which put the Hornets on top, 3-0.

Loscalzo said his team "played with focus and determination."
