Hornets Come Back Late, Nip Luchadores
|
The Eureka Hornets topped the Mexico City Luchadores, 4-3, in Roberto Clemente League action at The Nest. The game was highlighted by the performance of Eureka pitcher Justin Soule. Dave Murphy picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 8-2. Preston Stenzel was tagged with the loss. Ryan Sartore earned the save for Eureka, his 4th.
Brian Carr, who is tied for 10th in the RCL in extra base hits with 69, helped out the Eureka cause in the bottom of the sixth inning with a run-scoring single. For the game, the second baseman went 1-5.
"We have a lot of confidence in Justin," said Eureka manager Juan Montés.
Eureka has run its win streak to 4 straight.
