Pharaohs Down Sasquatch, 7-6
|
The Cairo Pharaohs gave their fans something to talk about with a thrilling, walk-off win.
The Cairo Pharaohs needed 11 innings to defeat the Seattle Sasquatch, 7-6, at The Pyramid. Cairo left fielder Arnold Lysek had a superb performance. He went 3-4 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. With the win, Cairo boosts its record to 1-1.
Batting in the bottom of the 11th, 26-year old right fielder Jose Morales had a real shot to win the game. Seattle pitcher Nate Wesson was determined not to let it happen. But with no outs, Morales hit a run-scoring single. The Pharaohs had a walk-off triumph.
"He who laughs last laughs best," Morales said, postgame.
