Bighorn left fielder Jay Starr picked up 4 ribbies while helping his team beat back the Maple Marauders, 6-5. Andy Johnson closed it out for Bighorn, earning his 11th save. The second-place Bison now have a win-loss record of 78-73.
The game was at a stalemate until right fielder Riley Andrus came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Maple pitcher Sam Scott, he hit a first pitch fastball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Bighorn on top, 3-2.
"Hustle and hard work is a big part of our success," said Andrus. "Those qualities define our team."
