Blazers Claw Out 2-1 Win
|
The Bloomington Blazers claimed a close win over the Havana Stogies, due in large part to Jared Simms. The Bloomington left-hander pitched a great game to secure the 2-1 win. Bloomington, at 54-75, sits in last place in the Thurman Munson League Billy Martin Division.
With scoring opportunities rare, the Blazers had to cash in when they had the chance. One such opportunity presented itself in the bottom of the third, when first baseman Luis Santizo hit a run-scoring single. The single came off Prince Williams and made the score 2-0, Blazers. Santizo was 2-4 with 2 singles.
"There are no moral victories," said losing manager Taylor Hillary.
