Win Goes to Earthquakes in Tight Contest
Station Center Yard was the site of a competitive game between the Huntington Station Ramrods and San Francisco Earthquakes.

The San Francisco Earthquakes topped the Huntington Station Ramrods, 4-2, in Thurman Munson League action at Station Center Yard. The game was highlighted by the performance of San Francisco pitcher Nestor Aguilar. Blaine Fought picked up the win in relief. His record improves to 5-3. Dusty Miranda suffered the loss.

San Francisco needed the clutch hitting of Alex Sanchez to seal the deal. The catcher swatted a solo home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Earthquakes on top, 3-2. For the game, Sanchez had 1 home run and 1 single in 3 at-bats.

"Nestor's a gamer," said San Francisco manager Bill DesMarais. "Glad he's on our side."

At 72-57, San Francisco is in second place in the Thurman Munson League Billy Martin Division.
