Tim Jones, who is tied for 10th in the TML with a 7.1 K/9 rate, had a strong outing for the Quebec Armada against the Cairo Pharaohs at Lucky 7 Ballpark. The right-hander was a big part of his team's 5-2 win. Adam Sturm finished the game for Quebec and earned his 5th save. The win elevated the Armada to 72-55.
The Armada got a big at-bat from first baseman Phil Peters. For the game, Peters went 1-3 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3. In the bottom of the sixth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 16th home run of the season gave Quebec a 3-0 lead.
"When Tim is on, he can really move the ball around," said Quebec manager Ramu Pavi.
