The West Island Jazz beat the Cabo San Lucas Toreros, 6-5, at Field de Los Layendas. The Jazz got a fine performance from third baseman Brenton Perfect, who went 4 for 5 with a double and 3 singles. Sam Hickey earned the win for West Island. He lasted 8.1 innings, allowing 5 runs on 10 hits, while striking out 4. With the win, he raised his record to 15-10. Ernesto Herrera recorded his 27th save for West Island.

An inflection point occurred with one out in the top of the fourth. That's when Jazz second baseman Kenny Cox hit a slider from John Felder for a 2-run single. Just like that, West Island was up, 2-1.
