Tornadoes Stumble, Lose to Gremlins
|
The Houghton Gremlins overcame a pretty good performance by Kansas City center fielder Eddie Escobar, beating the Tornadoes, 11-4, at Golden Goebels Park. Escobar was 4 for 4 with a triple and 2 doubles, while scoring 2 times. Jared Ritsch, the winning pitcher, improved to 3-6. He pitched 6 innings, giving up 6 hits and 2 runs, while striking out 2 and walking 1. The win makes Houghton 80-47.
In the bottom of the third, Houghton designated hitter Leo Galdamez had a productive at-bat. With the bases loaded and no one out, Galdamez stroked a 2-run single to left. It made the score 4-0, Houghton. For the game, he went 2 for 4 with 2 singles and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.
"I feel like a little kid every time I put the uniform on," said Galdamez.
