Buffalo third baseman Josh Bye had a good game, even if his team did not. The Bison dropped a 5-3 decision to El Paso at Thundering Grounds at Bison Stadium. Bye went 3 for 3 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. The winning pitcher was 27-year old left-handed pitcher Biagio Strambi. He tossed 83 pitches over 6.1 innings, allowing 2 runs on 4 hits. The 5th-place Mavericks hiked their record to 61-66.

Marty Hannibal had a big run-scoring double for the Mavericks in the top of the third inning. With El Paso leading 1-0 and a runner on 1st, he got a fastball from 27-year old right-handed pitcher Onofredo Casiraghi and swatted a double to left. It was his 36th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Mavericks ahead, 2-0.

"We were the better team," crowed Hannibal.
