The Bighorn Bison outlasted the Montreal Mounties, 9-8, in 11 innings. Bighorn catcher Dean Nappi stood out with his performance. He went 3 for 6 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3. Bighorn reliever Mike McMasters picked up the win, upping his record to 3-3. Randy Mowers was saddled with the loss. The win puts the Bison at 70-57, while the Mounties drop to 84-43.

A defensive lapse proved costly in the contest. In the top of the 11th, with the game tied, Unpei Takeshita was at the plate when Bighorn scored 1 on an error. The miscue enabled the Bison to go in front, 9-8.

Takeshita told the Bighorn News: "Win or lose, I don't want to see our team outhustled."
