Warriors Beaten by Pioneers, 8-1
|
Starting pitcher John Crowther had a solid game. He was a big reason the Vancouver Pioneers throttled the Walnut Creek Warriors, 8-1. At 58-69, Vancouver is in 5th place in the Thurman Munson League Billy Martin Division.
In the bottom of the second, Vancouver third baseman Ricky Martinez had a productive at-bat. With runners on 1st and 2nd and one out, Martinez stroked a run-scoring single to center. It made the score 2-0, Vancouver. For the game, he went 2 for 4 with 2 singles and a walk.
"We'll need a much better effort, the next time out," said losing manager Ruben Torres.
