Ridge Runners Go Down to Defeat, 6-5
The Chicago Eclipse beat the Eagle Rock Ridge Runners, 6-5, at Millennium Field. Chicago third baseman Dan Moran had an outstanding performance. He was 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 doubles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. Joe Umlah earned the save for Chicago, his 32nd. At 80-66, the Eclipse are currently third in the Roberto Clemente League Central Division.

Shortstop Larry Gilliland made an impact for Chicago, when he swatted a 3-run home run off Jon Wambach in the bottom of the fifth. For the contest, Gilliland was 1-4 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once.

"If you want to be considered a good team, these are the kind of games you have to win," said Chicago manager Demetrio Recchia.
