The home crowd had a good time watching the Eureka Hornets and Dallas Texans get after it.

The Dallas Texans beat the Eureka Hornets, 5-2, at Metroplex Park. The win was due in part to left fielder Chris Sawyer, who went 2-3 with a home run and a double, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Chris Nugent earned the save for Dallas, his 29th of the year.

With Dallas leading 2-0 in the bottom of the fourth, Sawyer hit a curveball from Harley Lowrie for a 2-run double. It was his 26th double of the season and put the Texans ahead, 4-0.

"I just tried to put the barrel on it," said Sawyer.

The Texans saw their win-loss record go to 66-80. At the same time, the Hornets fell to 82-64.
