The Jacksonville Pilots earned a close win over the Walnut Creek Warriors, thanks in part to German Gil. The Jacksonville right-hander, who is tied for 6th in the TML in complete games with 3, played a key role in the 3-2 victory. Luis Moreno closed out the game, earning his 2nd save. The second-place Pilots have a record of 80-65.
Chris Ingram had a big run-scoring double for the Pilots in the bottom of the third inning. With Jacksonville leading 2-1 and a runner on 2nd, he got a slider from 25-year old left-handed pitcher Marcel Antoine and swatted a double to left-center. It was his 22nd double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Pilots ahead, 3-1.
"Every loss hurts," said Walnut Creek manager Armando Medina. "But this was a tough one."
