Clutch Hitting Delivers Win for Slice
With left fielder Will Emery leading the charge, the Manhattan Slice defeated the Huntington Station Ramrods, 6-4, at Station Center Yard. Emery, who finished 4th in the TML in runs with 94 in 2052, was 1 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. Gebre-Selassie Afiba, credited with the win in relief, is now 3-2. He allowed no runs on no hits in 1 innings. Josh Showalter was credited with the save for Manhattan, his 25th of the season.

Manhattan used the timely hitting of Justin Scott to seize the win. The pinch hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Slice on top, 5-4. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.

"We didn't play well enough to win," Huntington Station skipper Paco Berroa said.

The Slice now have a record of 64-60 with the win over Huntington Station.
