Jazz Stymie Kansas City, Take 3-1 Win
|
West Island Jazz starter Justin Dolan turned in an exceptional performance against the Kansas City Tornadoes at Debris Field, resulting in a West Island win, 3-1. Ernesto Herrera closed the game out for West Island, earning his 35th save. West Island, at 80-65, sits in second place in the Roberto Clemente League International Division.
West Island used a clutch at-bat from John Coburn to capture the win. The first baseman hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the second inning to put the Jazz ahead, 2-0. It was his lone hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.
"This level of focus will win us a lot of ballgames," Dolan said after the game.
