The Vancouver Pioneers downed the Buffalo Bison, 9-5. The hitting star was left fielder Danny Romero. Romero was 4-5 with 2 doubles and 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for the Pioneers. The 5th-place Bison have lost 5 straight games.

The Bison had been locked in a 4-4 tie with the Pioneers going into the bottom of the sixth inning. That changed quickly when the 21-year old catcher Tom Pottle came to the plate. Pottle hit a solo home run on a 1-2 fastball from Buffalo hurler Carlos Nunez. It was Pottle's 10th home run of the year.

"It's a good day to be a fan after a win like that," Pottle told the Vancouver Observer.
