Saxton Helps Walnut Creek Bombard Maple
Eager fans turned out for a matchup between the Walnut Creek Warriors and Maple Marauders.

The Walnut Creek Warriors firmly defeated the Maple Marauders, 16-4, at Castlerock Field. The Walnut Creek offense was lit. Matt Saxton, for one, had a solid game. He went 3 for 5 with a home run, a triple, and a walk. He scored 3 times and drove in 3 for the Warriors. The Warriors now have a record of 78-65 with the win over Maple.

Saxton had a consequential at-bat in the bottom of the fourth for the Warriors. Coming up with the bases loaded and Walnut Creek trailing 2-1, he hit a 2-run single.

"I'm proud of the way we took care of business and got the 'W' today," Saxton told the Walnut Creek Gazette. "Whatever it takes."
