Mottola Delivers Walk-Off Win for Ridge Runners
|
For the home crowd, it was a thrilling walk-off win.
Montreal wasted an exceptional performance by pitcher Greg Spivey, falling to the Eagle Rock Ridge Runners, 6-3. Spivey threw 7.2 innings of shutout ball for the losing team. Ruben Rodriguez, credited with the win in relief, is now 2-3. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2 innings.
Eagle Rock got a knockout punch from Aaron Mottola. The third baseman hammered a 3-run home run in the bottom of the ninth inning to win the game. It might've been his only hit, but it decided the outcome.
"Exhilarating win," said Mottola.
Eagle Rock is now 72-71.
