Bison Fall Short, 3-2, at San Francisco
|
The Bighorn Bison and San Francisco Earthquakes provided some drama for the home crowd.
In a low-scoring tilt between the San Francisco Earthquakes and the Bighorn Bison, 22-year old left-handed pitcher Jared Ritsch was the difference-maker. The San Francisco left-hander spearheaded the 3-2 win. Picking up the save was fireballing left-hander Ethan Howell.
San Francisco third baseman Geoff Raines contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the fifth. With two down, he hit a fastball to right-center field for a run-scoring single. It was his 55th hit of the season and put the Earthquakes ahead, 3-1.
"I'll probably toss and turn tonight," Bighorn manager Carlos Esparza said, following the tough loss.
With the win over Bighorn, the Earthquakes improved to 58-83.
