Earthquakes Squelch Bison Offense in Shutout Win
The San Francisco Earthquakes stymied the Bighorn Bison, 4-0, at Golden Gate Park. Gil Delk had a good day at the plate. He was 2-3 with a home run, a triple, and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once for San Francisco. Jeff Agin, the winner, is now 11-10. He struck out 3 and walked 2 over 5 innings, while allowing no runs on 6 hits. Chris Crawford earned his 1st save in 1 chances.

With San Francisco leading 1-0 in the bottom of the first, Delk hit a fastball from Gordie White for a 2-run home run. It was his 11th home run of the season and put the Earthquakes ahead, 3-0.

"Makes our job easier," said Delk, "when our pitchers shut the opposition down."
