The Asheville Moonshiners faced a tenacious opponent in Mexico City pitcher Marco Huerta, but still scratched out a win at The Still by a final score of 6-5 in 12 innings. Huerta went 7 innings and allowed 2 runs. The win was credited to 11-year veteran Steve Blaire in relief. His record improves to 4-3. Miguel Arroyo took the loss. Now 55-67, Mexico City has dropped 10 games in a row.

The decisive blow was delivered by Amezwaru Kimaiyo in the bottom of the 12th when he hit a solo home run off 29-year old right-handed pitcher Miguel Arroyo to win the game for Asheville. The home crowd went nuts.

"We'll try to build on that win," Kimaiyo told the Asheville Today.
