The Buffalo Bison beat the Vancouver Pioneers, 9-8, in part because of second baseman Jose Espinoza. He was 5-5 with 2 home runs, a double, and 2 singles. He scored 3 runs and drove in 2. By defeating Vancouver, the second-place Bison improved to 63-58.

The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the tenth. With one out, Espinoza hit a cutter from Kenny Poor for a solo home run. The Bison, in dramatic fashion, had a walk-off win.
