Manhattan had no answer for Havana Stogies hurler Wilfredo Velez, who overwhelmed Slice hitters as the Stogies coasted to victory, 7-1. Angelo Perez wrapped it up, recording his 1st save. With the win, Havana pushed its record to 63-56.

Zheng-ze Li had a big 2-run home run for the Stogies in the bottom of the second inning. With Havana leading 1-0 and a runner on 1st, he sized up a cutter from 31-year old right-handed pitcher Esteban Mora and punished it. The result was his 9th home run of the season, which put the Stogies on top, 3-0.

"I'm glad we can make our fans happy with a win," Li told the Havana Observer.
