Cordeiro Leads Slice to 6-1 Win Over Honu
Manhattan took on Hawaii in front of a lively crowd.

Riding the 4-hit performance of the former first round draft pick Matt Cordeiro, the Manhattan Slice stopped the Hawaii Honu, 6-1, in 9 innings. Tom Simmons got the win, improving to 8-11. He pitched 6 innings, giving up 5 hits and no runs, while striking out 4 and walking 2.

Manhattan used the hitting of Mike Cole to pick up the win. The designated hitter clubbed a 2-run home run in the top of the third inning to put the Slice on top, 4-0. For the game, Cole had 1 home run and 2 singles in 5 at-bats.

"We put our best foot forward tonight," said a smiling Cole.

The Slice win now puts them at 56-63.
