Tornadoes Procure 3-1 Victory
|
The Kansas City Tornadoes earned a close win over the Buffalo Bison, thanks in part to Monty Brewster. The Kansas City right-hander, who is tied for 2nd in the TML in wins with 12, played a key role in the 3-1 victory. In 6.2 innings, Brewster surrendered 7 hits, while striking out 5 and walking 2. He allowed 1 run. Picking up the save was fireballing right-hander Manuel Zepeda.
The Tornadoes had to work out of trouble in the bottom of the ninth. The score was 3-1, Kansas City, with no one out. Buffalo, with a runner on 1st, was mounting a threat. Landon Michaels dug in at the plate, but on a full count fastball, he hit into a double play.
At 62-56, the Tornadoes claim second place in the Thurman Munson League Tim Ervin Division.
