Eclipse Fall Short at Buffalo, 6-5
The Buffalo Bison turned back the Chicago Eclipse, 6-5, at Thundering Grounds at Bison Stadium. Byron Benjamin, in particular, had a fine performance. He was 3-4 with a double and 2 singles. He scored 2 times. The win went to Mike Stone in relief. His record improves to 6-1. Joe Umlah took the loss. Mike Waldrup picked up the save for Buffalo, his 11th of the year.

Landon Michaels went 1-4 for Buffalo. The top prospect had a key at-bat in the bottom of the eighth. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 5-5 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Joe Umlah. It was his 82nd RBI of the season.

"We had some nice at-bats at the right time," said Bison manager Jon Green.

The first-place Bison improved to 70-47.
