The Buffalo Bison outlasted Francisco Valdez and the Quebec Armada, 8-7. Valdez was impressive in the loss. The Quebec third baseman went 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. D.J. Handrahan snagged the win in relief. The left-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits over 2.1 innings. He's now 4-6 on the season. Buffalo now has a record of 60-57 with the win.

Jason Thompson took Quebec hurler Alfredo Mora deep in the bottom of the eighth. His 2-run home run put the Bison on top, 8-7. In all, Thompson had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 4.

"We took advantage of our opportunities," Thompson told the Buffalo News. "It's as simple as that."
