Starting pitcher Kyle Peacock gave the Montreal Mounties a rock-solid performance, helping his team defeat the Cabo San Lucas Toreros, 3-2, at Field de Los Layendas. The winner in relief was Randy Mowers. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 2 innings. He now owns a record of 3-3. Jim LeMay earned the save, his 25th, for the Mounties.
Montreal needed the clutch hitting of Jared Jones to seal the deal. The first baseman swatted a solo home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Mounties on top, 3-2. For the game, Jones had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"There are no moral victories," said losing manager Labib Sarahani.
The loss makes Cabo San Lucas 49-68.
