German Gil, who is tied for 8th in the TML in quality starts with 12, pitched well, but the Jacksonville Pilots still fell short, losing, 4-2, to the Buffalo Bison at Thundering Grounds at Bison Stadium. Mike Waldrup, who is tied for 6th in the TML in saves with 28, earned the save for Buffalo. The Bison sit in third place in the Thurman Munson League East Division with a record of 66-69.

Buffalo took a 4-2 lead on Cliff Millar's 35th double of the season. The bases-clearing double, which Millar hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Jacksonville pitcher Luis Moreno visibly frustrated.

"The effort we put into this one paid off," Millar said.
