Manhattan used a well-timed hit by Pierre Parent to capture the win. The second baseman socked a run-scoring double in the top of the sixth inning to put the Slice ahead, 2-1. Though it was his only hit in 5 at-bats, it was important.

"We need better swings, better at-bats," said losing manager Naoki Okada.
