Warriors Get 5-3 Win Versus Bighorn
|
Walnut Creek catcher Bobby Solano made his presence felt in the 5-3 Warriors triumph over the Bighorn Bison. Solano went 2-3 with 2 singles and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. The victory gives Walnut Creek a record of 88-48.
Walnut Creek designated hitter Bobby Tackman contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the fifth. With two down, he hit a slider to left-center field for a run-scoring single. It was his 178th hit of the season and put the Warriors ahead, 3-2.
Walnut Creek manager Armando Medina was pleased with the team's effort. "It was just a good, gutsy performance by everybody," he said.
