Houghton Absorbs 5-0 Loss to Quebec
|
Bruce Gaulton never let Houghton get something going. The Quebec right-hander commanded his fastball in pitching the Armada to a 5-0 win. Gaulton, now 5-8, was the winner. In 7.1 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 3, walking 3, and allowing no runs. Quebec occupies last place in the Thurman Munson League Tim Ervin Division at 54-62.
Luis Farinas, who is on pace for 103 RBI this season, took Houghton hurler Trace Yeadon deep in the bottom of the first. His 2-run home run put the Armada on top, 2-0. In all, Farinas had 2 singles in addition to the home run, while going 3 for 4.
Farinas told a Quebec Times reporter that he was "more than satisfied" with the win.
